Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21
Words are powerful tools... Use them right and they’ll benefit you. Use them wrong and they can cause your entire life to be destroyed. Never underestimate the power of words that come out from your mouth. Not even those that you silently repeat to yourself in your heart. Words build, and words destroy. Blessings are just words spoken which if believed manifests in our lives. The same way curses that playout in our lives are just mere words. The words we speak are not only what make or unmake us.
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the WORD of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
Hebrews 11:3
Today I want to stir up your faith to confess positive things into your life. When it comes to naming and claiming, the most important thing for you to do is to stay with the Word of God. What you claim is what you proclaim and what you proclaim is what you become.
It was not by accident that Jesus constantly says "I AM...". Well, Just as you may have been called names, Jesus our saviour was not left out. He was called a drunkard and a glutton (Luke 7:34). He was nearly lynched because people thought he came to destroy God's work by his teachings. Some even believed Jesus was being blasphemous when in fact, they were blinded by their traditions.
Instead of Jesus accepting what people said about him, He made his own confessions because he knew who he was. Jesus said:
1. "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." -John 8:12
2. "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture." -John 10:9
3. "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep." -John 10:11
4. "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. ..." -John 11:25, 26
5. "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." -John 14:6
6. "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." -John 15:5
7. "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." -John 6:35
Jesus knew who he was. And so he confessed who he is. You do not only become who what you speak, but also what you believe in your heart.
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:... Proverbs 23:7.
